Is the ref guide finishing up? I know we are all busy and deeply respect that. Moving and all that. Is there any chance of keeping just the guides to the Big Finish audios going, as I use them when listening to them. I really, truly, don't need a guide to the comics or storybook, etc... Audio guides really help to listen and understand.

I don't think there has been anything to suggest that the Guide is dis-continuing, not sure what gave you that idea.
I think it is a matter of priorities and not being able to update the site as frequently as some visitors may like.

Yeah. Eveyone needs some downtime. I'll keep writing synopses of Dr Who stories until someone tells me to stop. They'll show up eventually on the Guide, I'm sure.

I know we all need some downtime. I do understand when "real life" gets in the road. The last Doctor Who monthly audio that was referenced was last April for "The Magic Mousetrap" so I'm wondering when more will be done. Thanks for all you do. These are such a help when listening to the audios.

Hi koinina
I've already submitted synopses for The Eighth Truth/Worldwide Web and Enemy of the Daleks and they're waiting to go up. I'm also half way through doing The Angel of Scutari.
Regrettably I've fallen behind with the other audio releases, partly due to overwork and partly because the rate of new releases has increased. On the other thread (Synopsis Amnesty) I've put in a request for help, so if anyone wants to start work on some of the more recent titles, please do! If you do, can you drop a note on that thread with the title you're working on so that we don't get more than one person doing the same story.

Hi to all,
My first post, but I've been a viewer of the guide for years. It's brilliant. I know people have committments outside of the guide. Is it possible at least we could have the main page updated with more current releases, even if can't have the synopsis's. It's not good to whinge on a first post, so on a plus note a many thanks to everybody who puts the time and effort into making the guide the brilliant site it is. ;D

Not to sound rude here (not my intent but the internet has a habit...) but it's been almost a year since aa67216's comment and theres been little updated. We don't even have the recent episode titles from this years first half season up.
I love this site, it;s so helpful and a great resource, but it could we get the new titles added to the main page even if we don't have write ups for them?

Thanks for the update of stuff, as mentioned not many updates go up, and I gather there is stuff awaiting to go up. It probably is not really my place to say this, but if the guide is to continue to flourish, brilliant as it is, would it be worth considering merging with the guide at www.eyespider.freeserve.co.uk/drwho/compleat.htmlI only mention this as they seem to have a reasonably well up to date episode list, as per our front page. But they don't have obviously all our brilliant synopsis. Just an idea, as it would be a shame for this site to die. PS Please don't hit me.

Well, I made a calle for help a few months ago because I had not a lot of time on my hands for regular updates and the only people that came forward either never followed up or were those already helping me.
Eryx and aa67216, if you feel I am not doing enough, I have certainly a long list of things I'd like to do and would certainly welcome some more help in updating the website.
In fact, you're already lucky I continue to take the time to update the Reference Guide at all. I do it because I know the hard work that went into the guide so far and I don't want it to get lost. If it wasn't for Mark Senior who's been continuing to send me synopses over the past several months, there would have been nothing new to add.
Please keep in mind that when I started the Reference Guide, Doctor Who was a dead show with little new material released each month. I started it to provide synopses of the episodes -- something you could not find online at the time.
Now, unfortunately, I feel there's too much material coming out each month -- audio, books, comics, in addition to regular TV episodes and spinoffs.
Don't get me wrong, I still like Doctor Who. But I have always been more interested in the classic episodes than the new show -- I particularly like the Harnell and Troughton eras.
And to be honest, I still haven't watch most of the Matt Smith episodes nor the Sarah Jane Adventures or Torchwood.
Dom

Dom Hi Dom, I apologise if I my post may have come across in attacking manner as this was not the case. Regarding the following up on the work allocated to me, I must admit I have been a bit slow with sorting the video page, as like you work is a pain, and my hours of work have been extended a little. But be assured I am still working on it, hopefully will get it done soon. I agree with you that in the last 10 years there has been an explosion in new who material. And I sympathize with you as the non classic stuff is not as interesting to you, but us Who-nuts love it all. I would like to help more where possible. But with all things it is time. I think everybody working on the site to maintain and update it are doing a stirling job. We definitely have alot of viewers here, but not enough contributors. Lets hope we can get some help. Andy

Andy Dont worry, It was not directed against you. It's just it's frustrating that help is so hard to find. In an ideal world, I'll get people that would prepare the templates for the new pages, others that would write synopses, somebody would take care of the link section, and another for the video releases. In the end it would be my task to put these things together. Unfortunately, I don't know where to begin. There so much materials released each month. I am lucky to have Mark Senior and Cameron Dixon on board to still write some of the synopses for the website. Over the past two years, I have unfortunately lost the collaboration of Lee Rogers, who was writing the audios summaries, and Dominic Smith that has not been on this site since last November and who was handling the main Doctor Who synopsis. I'll try to be more present from now on on these forums. I will visit and read them on a daily basis. I'll try to update the website more frequently, even if it's only little things. At least, it will show it's still alive. If anybody is willing to do more for the site, either a ponctual work or to take care of an area, please let me know. Needs so far: - Somebody to take care of the outdated Links page and update it on a regular basis
- Somebody to write synopsis for the Big Finish Audios
- Somebody to write the TV show summaries
- Somebody to write synopsis for the K-9 show
- A list of what stories are missing on the guide, with regular update about new releases.I'd like the title of the release, with an attached picture of the cover, blurb, ISBN.
- Similarly, for new TV show episode, I'll need a cast and crew list, BBC blurb, airdate and times, an either a promotional picture or a screen capture to add on the episode page.
- Andy -- do I still count on you to do the video pages?
A new moderator, since Dominic Smith is M.I.A.
Any help is welcome. Dom

Any help is welcome. Dom Hi, Yep I'm still working on the video section. Spoke the missus and she said you could work through doing synopsis's for the Big Finish audios. Also I can help, with getting info regarding the new audios and tv eps. Hopefully we can work together well, and get the guide back up to date. Andy
