Found out that Day 8 in 24, to be shown next year, will have a character called Davros the same name as the Dalek creator.
24's Davros is played by Doug Hutchison.
Meanwhile this week I saw the Spooks episode On The Brink and it had a character with the surname of Darlek (sic).

In the Family Guy episode 420 - after Qhahog has legalised Marijuana (quote provided by someone from another place) Brian: Why would we want to re-illegalise pot. People are happier, the crime-rate is down and the ratings for Doctor Who are the highest they've ever been!

In episode 3 of Party Animals featuring Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith it included a bus that has a Torchwood poster. Almost prophetic that Matt Smith eventually became the lead actor for Torchwood's parent show Doctor Who.

In the latest Sydney Sunday Telegraph Magazine there is a headline of "Doctor Who?" but it refers to Heath Ledger's last film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

In the Knight Rider episode Knight of The Living Dead, it’s Halloween and one of the characters Billy is dressed as Captain Jack Harkness. In case there were viewers who didn’t know who he was supposed to be he said, “Captain Jack Harkness, Torchwood, Doctor Who.” Billy is dressed as Captain Jack for the entire episode although the jacket did not make it past the teaser. The plot of the episode has the secret base going into a lockdown as a result of a presence of a killer. Torchwood had its own experiences of lockdowns. While Billy was Captain Jack, Zoe was Claire Bennett from Heroes and in one scene while still in their Halloween costumes Zoe kisses Billy. The sight of seeing Claire Bennett kissing Captain Jack was very unexpected. While still dressed as Captain Jack, Billy using his computer expertise to see if he can track down the killer. Torchwood-wise this would have been something that is usually done by Tosh rather than Jack himself.

The title of the Bones episode The Doctor In The Photo feels like a mix of Doctor Who & Sapphire & Steel. The Doctor In The Photo title makes me think of the Doctor being stuck in a photo and being stuck in a photo was the storyline for Sapphire & Steel Adventure Four written by Sapphire & Steel creator PJ Hammond. Hammond would eventually use this Sapphire & Steel adventure as the basis for his Torchwood episode From Out of the Rain but a silent film was used instead of photographs.

Doctor Who got referenced in the House episode Bombshells when Taub said, “That's when classic Doctor Who comes on the BBC.” Quite a surprise as House was virtually the last place I expected Doctor Who to be referenced.

Noticed in The Guild 5.6 Revolving Doors that the TARDIS was on a T-Shirt. Perhaps it has something with the fact that The Guild creator/star Felicia Day had expressed an interest in appearing in Doctor Who or Torchwood.

Supernatural 7.3 The Girl Next Door had an appearance from Amy Pond. No, Karen Gillan did not reprise her role as Amy in this Supernatural episode. Instead it had Jewel Staite playing a character called Amy Pond, obviously named after the Doctor Who companion. supernatural.wikia.com/wiki/Amy_PondThe Supernatural Amy Pond character is what The Girl Next Door refers to and it looks similar in name to Doctor Who’s The Girl Who Waited which of course refers to Doctor Who’s own Amy Pond. With Jewel Staite’s previous sci fi credits includes Firefly/Serenity, Stargate Atlantis and a guest stint on The X-Files, this is perhaps the closest she has to come to appearing in the Doctor Who universe for now.

Of all places the TARDIS, albeit a toy of it, materialised on Grey’s Anatomy. In episode 8.4 What Is It About Men the medical staff at Seattle Grace Hospital tends to injured attendees of a comic convention and we briefly see the TARDIS as two attendees argued on the ownership of it. Russell T Davies even got a mention in this episode and I can only speculate what he thought about being mention on Grey's Anatomy that is if he even knows about it. Incidentally a regular on Grey’s Anatomy is Kevin McKidd is a Brit who some years ago was the lead actor of the short-lived time travel series Journeyman. Perhaps a Doctor Who appearance from him is long overdue. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Lcq6Wqmavg

There was a Doctor Who reference in the penultimate episode of Leverage season 4, The Radio Job.
From TV.com: “Injoke: When Jimmy travels back in time in Parker's flashback, the producer's use a minor variation of the Doctor Who theme music.” The episode also has Hardison saying bow ties are cool.
This is not the first time that Doctor Who has been referenced on Leverage. Perhaps Steven Moffat should return the favour and reference Leverage in Doctor Who especially the character played by Gina Bellman, someone who is familiar with Moffat, that is if Ms Bellman is unable to appear in Doctor Who during Moffat’s tenure as showrunner.

In Prometheus directed by Ridley Scott, the Noomi Rapace scientist character is called Elizabeth Shaw which is also the name of a Doctor Who companion, who is also a scientist. Some years ago at a forum, Doctor Who novelist David A McIntee suggested that Scott’s direction of Alien (1979) may have been influenced by his viewing, some years previously of Ark In Space (1975). Therefore it is not implausible to speculate that Scott may have remembered Doctor Who companion Liz Shaw when coming up with the name of the Noomi Rapace character in Prometheus.

The DVD commentary for the Danger Man episode Sting In The Tail was with guest star Derren Nesbitt and moderated by Jaz Wiseman and Sting In The Tail was originally broadcast on October 14 1965. During the commentary Wiseman talked about what was available to watch in the UK at the time that Sting In The Tail was originally shown and he mentioned Doctor Who including that Nesbitt was in it in Marco Polo. All seven episodes of Marco Polo are among 106 Doctor Who episodes that are missing. All episodes of Danger Man in contrast have survived. Wiseman soon states and stresses that he was not trying to sound controversial by saying that he was glad that all Danger Man episodes have survived whereas lot of Doctor Who episodes did not. Jaz Wiseman was producer of the DVD releases of the ITC shows including Danger Man and I don’t know whether his remark about the survival of Doctor Who episodes in relation to Danger Man episodes truly indicates his opinion about Doctor Who. Coincidentally the next ITC commentary I listened to after the aforementioned Danger Man episode was for the Strange Report episode REPORT 3906: COVERGIRLS - Last Year's Model participated by Doctor Who companion actor Anneke Wills who was a Strange Report regular. Contrary to my expectations this commentary was not moderated by Wiseman but by his colleague Henry Holland and Doctor Who does get mentioned in this commentary. I cannot help to think whether Wiseman elected not to moderate the Strange Report commentary on Anneke Wills due to the fact that she was a regular Doctor Who cast member and therefore her experience on Doctor Who would be brought up if not by him but by her. Indeed the Strange Report commentary moderated by Holland, Anneke Wills herself brought up the subject of Doctor Who.
