On The Dalek Collection release, rewatched Dalek. When Goddard reported to Van Statten about the intruders (the Doctor and Rose), he made a joke about it. The always humourless subtitles correlated what he said as “in-thru-da the window” but since they were talking about intruders it is quite apparent what he meant was “in-tru-der the window”.

Dalek was the first real classic hit for the modern series as far as I am concerned. It felt like watching a modern Doctor who had become embattered by a war as referenced in the earlier episodes, and came across as believeable if less Doctorish. Syll after all this time not sure about the wisdom in creating a backstory that had little to do with what was seen previously onscreen, and how different this Doctor was, but still I watched it and rate it high indeed.

Dalek alternative script extract:
The Dalek alternative script extract is a comedic story by Rob Shearman. This was released for the Dalek rewatch in the Lockdown season and Shearman had also written Dalek. The alternative script extract is based on uncertainty at the time whether NuWho would be able to use the Daleks when negotiating with Terry Nation's estate. With the alternative script extract, Shearman presents fun ideas with other elements of classic Who in absence of the Dalek. There is also reference to another property that fans coming from the era of classic Who can appreciate. Amusing of what could have been.
